This past week was not the best for the Phillies, as they started it by losing their first three games, but came back to win two of their last three, putting them at 2-4 for the week. While not that impressive, the team did show signs of life yesterday in their 10-0 beating of the New York Mets. This type of showing made it a little difficult to pick a Phillie of the Week, but I found one player that got it done with his bat. This week's Phillie of the Week is:
Jayson Werth
While the rest of the offense has been scuffling along, Werth has picked up his game in a big way. This past week, he hit .350 with four walks, six RBI and a stolen base. He also had that big three RBI double against the Giants to tie that game on Wednesday. The rest of the offense needs to get back to doing things the way Werth did this week.
