The Philadelphia Eagles are Super Bowl Champions

In the almost ten years that I've been writing online, that headline is one that I honestly never thought that I would write.  Hell, the that time before this season, I'd seen all of three Eagles playoff games, and they had all ended in losses.  One of them even ended in the first playoff win for the Cowboys since Super Bowl XXX, for crying out loud.

None of that matters anymore.

The Road to Super Bowl LII: Top 10 Eagles Moments

What a season it has been for Eagles fans.  Coming into the start of the 2017-18 season, hardly anyone, including Eagles fans, believed that this team was ready to make this much noise this soon.  Yes, there were some good pickups in free agency, but the defense was still regarded as highly suspect in the secondary, and Carson Wentz was entering his second season in the NFL.  For most people, a 9-7, or 10-6 record with a potential playoff appearance would have been seen as a successful season.

What a difference four months makes.  The Eagles hit the ground running, and never really lost momentum.  They overcame injuries at almost every key position, including quarterback, and now find themselves just one win away from their first Super Bowl title.  They've been looked down on all season by national pundits and "experts,"  and even now, no one outside of Philadelphia is giving the Eagles much of a chance to beat the Patriots.  Before the teams take the field, let's look back at some of the best moments of this season for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Phillies Recap: Pirates-1, Phillies-0

Game Recap:
Aaron Nola made his first start in a month, and pitched seven outstanding innings.  However, a hit batter in the bottom of the sixth gave Pittsburgh their only run of the game, and the Phillies could do nothing at the plate all day as they lost to the Pirates 1-0.

Phillies Recap: Nationals-6, Phillies-4

Game Recap:
Up 4-0 in the fifth inning, the Phillies were once again unable to hold onto a lead, and Bryce Harper's two run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning sent them away with their third straight loss.

Phillies Recap: Mariners-10, Phillies-9

Game Recap:
The Phillies had leads of 4-0 and 9-5 during this game, but the Seattle Mariners were able to come back once against Jerad Eickhoff and another time against the Phillies bullpen to end up with a 10-9 win tonight.  This was honestly, the most frustrating loss of the season so far for the Phillies.
